My Posh Nail Polish | Golden Plum

When I started buying bottles of nail polish, I only used it for my toenails. In 2010, I started growing my fingernails and eventually, started learning how to paint my fingernails. Even if I bought a few bottles, I never really took the time to photographed my painted nails, and I sort of regretted doing that. Had I known I will start blogging about nail polish, I never should've thrown away a whole lot of bottles without swatching them on my nails and photograph it.

No sense regretting now, as I do have a few more old nail polishes I have yet to share to you, so for now, allow me to do such.

Mid 2011, my sister Jessie and I joined the Mt. Pinatubo trek, and the organizer of the trek gave us 100 pesos GC because he said the fee that we initially paid was 100 pesos more than the actual fee to be paid. What I did with my GC was go to the mall and buy bottles of My Posh nail polishes, which was my favorite that time because it was cheap at 16 pesos per bottle.


Among the shades I bought that time was Golden Plum, because I love purple! As you can see in the picture, there was a very few lacquer in the bottle, and because I haven't touched this for the longest time, it was already goopy and very thick. Back when it was still new, it glided like butter on my nails, it was easy to use and if the lacquer left in the bottle could be a good indication, then I could say this was one of my beloved nail polishes. It wasn't really noticeable, and what I liked about it was that it also looked brown in some angles (kinda like Sassy Colors Iced Mocha).

Fast forward to today. The nail polish is very thick and goopy now, and although application wasn't that difficult, I had to glide the brush very lightly so the lacquer would be uniform. Because the lacquer has gotten thick, bubbles formed almost instantly, and I really hated it. On my nails are two thick coats of Golden Plum and there was nothing I could do about the bubbles.

Throwing the bottle now won't be so tough to do because I have already used up most of the lacquer. I still like My Posh nail polish because of the many reasons, however, I have to tell myself to use it every now and then and not let them go old to prevent it from becoming too thick and goopy.



PS - I forgot to mention that My Posh now has a different bottle. Aesthetically, I love this bottle over the new one because this one looks like a mini perfume bottle, but I do understand that storing this kind of bottle would take up more space compared to the new one.

Etude House Shopping

Last weekend, the girls and I went to the mall. Jessie and I initially wanted to buy a router because both of us can't use the Internet at the same time. She and I agreed we'll split the amount 50-50, but when we get to the mall, we immediately had lunch and walked towards to the supermarket. However, before we even reached the supermarket, I asked her if she wanted to enter Etude House first...


... and shop we did.

Personally, I don't have that necessity to buy things. I now have a new lipstick and the cheek blusher sold at Etude House were quite expensive. But since Jessie needs to buy new cosmetics, I figured I'd buy something, too. We bought:

• Drawing Snow Creamy Liner
• Pudding Dia Shadow
• See My Nails Shine nail polish (brown)
• Cotton Candy nail polish (blue)

I only wanted to buy the blue nail polish because our cousin's wedding is coming near and part of her motif is is blue. Tiffany Blue to be exact, but I don't feel the need to find the exact color anymore because as what our cousin said, "It's just nail polish."

Anyway, at the counter, we were told our bill was nearly 1000 pesos, and if we want, we can put in another item to make it 1000 or more so we could have a much better freebie (Etude House gives freebies whenever your bill reach 500). That's when I put in the brown nail polish. As a freebie, we were given the 30ml tube of Baking Powder Facial Wash. We do own the Baking Powder BB Facial Wash, but since this is a different kind, we were thankful about it. :)

Will try to make a specific post about the eye liner and the eye shadow (forgot to take individual pictures before Jessie used them), but for sure you will read about the nail polishes and the facial scrub in the days to come.

I met Claudette just one time in the past - during Jessie's graduation. She was the very first one who greeted us (she and Jessie were classmates in college), and even if we weren't really able to talk much, I sort of already classified her as a friend.

Last December, she tied the knot, and even if I wasn't really part of the official list of invitees, a joke I told my sister (I wanna come to the event), allowed me to really be a part of it.


I don't know the full lengths of their love story, but based on the vows they exchanged, Claudette and Luigi met in Kuwait, where they both worked sometime ago. It was indeed a very unexpected kind of love story as who would have thought that a Filipina and an American would meet in a foreign country, be friends, and fall in love? The wedding took place at a resort, as they were still saving up for a big church wedding in the future. For now, they just want everything to be official, so Claudette and their little bundle of joy can come back to Kuwait.


Obviously, Jessie wore a dress and a new pair of uber tall shoes (which I will share next time). I wore a semi-formal blouse (I had to put on a blazer as my arms are so big), but I didn't go super formal - I wore it with leggings and an Ipanema rubber slip-ons. I figured, it wasn't a "strictly formal" event, others were actually wearing T-Shirts and jeans, so I guess my outfit was just okay.

The wedding was attended by close family members and friends (I do feel honored to be here), and reception followed right after the ceremony. The couple danced to "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw, and they were just sooo sweet! As a woman who still hasn't met her Mr. Right, I just felt a little tug in my heart, like... when will I meet my Prince Charming? Hahaha.


After the ceremony, we were supposed to travel back home, but Claudette asked if we would like to have some drinks that their place. Thinking traffic would still be bad at that time, we decided to come with them. We didn't really drink a lot, but I had a bottle of San Mig Apple, a sip of white wine, a sip of sparkling wine, about 1/4 cup of Red Horse beer, and a sip of Jack Daniels (straight) - just to taste it.

We left the house about 10pm and was home about 2 hours after. I may be eight years older than my sister and her friends, but they welcomed me as if I was part of their clique. It was so nice to see Claudette again and interact with her family, and I am so happy that this early, she has already invited me to their daughter's baptism.
