The day I arrived from La Union, my brother and I went to SM Megamall to attend a food event hosted by Bar-B-King. We got to see familiar faces as well as meet new people... and yes, we also got to eat great food! :)

Another foodie event I attended - this time at Manang's Chicken - Tomas Morato branch. It was the launching of their newest dessert, the Velvet Sundae, but of course they also served us something savory, which served as our lunch.

I got there quite early and at first I didn't know any of the attendees, but when Ning (the woman I am with in the picture) arrived, I felt "at home" already... and soon, more and more familiar bloggers arrived. Before I went home, I stopped by a boutique and bought myself a pair of denim shorts. :)

I went to the bank to pay for some online purchases, and since I was already in Lagro, I asked brother to accompany me to the optical shop to have my eyes checked because it's been a month or so when I contacted an online store selling eyeglasses and since I need to submit my prescription, I had to talk to my optometrist.

The pair of eyeglasses I am using I had in 2008. With so much time spent in front of the computer, I am most certain my eye grade would be higher, but the optometrist said that my eye grade is still the same. Wow! :) That is something to be thankful about.

Another foodie event attended with brother - this time for the press con of the newest promo by Max's Restaurant. It's for Mother's Day, and part of the event was an activity wherein attendees have to answer a question, "What do I love most about my mom?" I just answered it from the bottom of my heart, and I was one of three winners of Max's Restaurant GCs worth 1000 pesos. Wow!

It was an awesome event... my brother and I shared the table with bloggy friends Vance, Alwin, Rain, and cousin Marge with Jonel... and we just shared lots of laughter.

After the event, brother and I went to different shops - just window shopping, and I got to enter this cool vintage shop... the plates and books are so tempting, yet I didn't have money for it.

Seventeen years ago on this day, Hanson's album "Middle of Nowhere" was released and it was officially named Hanson Day. Us fans here in the Philippines celebrate it yearly - be it with other fans or just doing our own celebration, but for the last three years, fansons from Hanson Philippines celebrate it as a group, and this year we celebrated it at the Jalapeno Cantina Mexicana, and our theme was "No Sleep for Banditas," taking inspiration from the band's newest project, "No Sleep for Banditos." There were about 40 fansons who attended the event - we ate, we played games, we drew names for raffle, and we had lots of pictures. It was a very fun event, and I got to meet new fans. I was happy because this year has been a great year for us fansons - meeting them and watching them play live last March, and now celebrating Hanson Day on the actual date (as we celebrated it either earlier or later in the past years).

This week is my week to adjust. Trying to get back to old fitness routines as well as old eating habits... and come next week, I will be back on track. Expect then to read about my food and exercise journal again.

Colinas Verdes Clubhouse

Sometime not too long ago, I used to walk/jog everyday around Colinas Verdes, and on some occasions I was able to take pictures around the area. The place didn't have that much houses yet, but they built the Clubhouse little by little...and last Saturday they officially opened it to the public.


They started the day with the celebration of the Holy Mass, then after they let guests roam around the clubhouse, inspect it, take pictures... etc. I have loved the place since then but seeing this vantage point made me like the place more.

The clubhouse has a lot to offer, but of course it is not for free. Anyway, here are some of the facilities / amenities available at the Clubhouse:


Gym
Operating Hours - 8am to 5pm
Rates: p1500 per month | p50 per day


Function Room
They didn't post their rates for this place, but I guess people can just phone in the office to inquire about it. By the way, the room is quite spacious - great to host special parties (maybe a wedding or baptism reception) or maybe a place to hold conventions.


Bowling Alley
Operating Hours - 8am to 5pm
Rates - p100 per game, inclusive of shoe rental which is p30


Swimming Pool
I didn't see the poster for their rates, but they have a pool for kids and adults.

This area in the Clubhouse also has a Billiard Hall - which I wasn't able to photograph because the Billiard table had a cover on it. Anyway, the rates for Billiards is p200 per hour.

Near the swimming pool is a little place where people can buy drinks and possibly have some snacks.


Somewhere near is the other part of the Clubhouse, where people can play indoor group sports.


At this event, groups of people that made Colinas Verdes come to life - Araneta Properties, Sta. Lucia Realty and Development, Inc. and Orchard Property Marketing Corporation had some friendly games, so before they "battled it out," there was a ribbon cutting ceremony to formally open the clubhouse, and they invited sports anchor Anthony Suntay to do the honors.

Colinas Verdes is just about 10-15 minutes away from SM City Fairview, and is located just after the border of Caloocan City (NCR) and San Jose del Monte (Bulacan) border. At the moment, since there is no Homeowners Association yet as (I said) there weren't much houses yet, so the lot owners can invite their friends to use the clubhouse. Right now, I am not sure yet if outsiders like me - who don't know any lot owners - can use the Clubhouse, but of course it wouldn't hurt to ask... I just wasn't able to because most people were busy about the event.

A clubhouse is something missing in our neighborhood. Having one surely made any housing project more interesting....making Colinas Verdes a very interesting place, I just hope by the time houses are built, they will still allow outsiders to walk / jog around as I do love welcoming a new day here.

Me in Aeropostale

My sister isn't one fashionable woman she admits, but she does know things about brands and when she started this budding habit of shopping online and checking out sale for clothes she can use (as she lost some weight and felt the need to update her wardrobe), she is now checking the labels first before deciding if she would buy it or not.


One brand that she is quite fascinated at the moment is Aeropostale, and I truly don't know what made her like it, but whenever she sees a piece of Aeropostale clothing at a prize she sees reasonable, she'd buy it.

The purple pair of shorts I am wearing in the picture above, she thrifted for p35. It's a size small, but she still bought it for herself because of the brand. When she got home and tried it on, she immediately took it off and gave it to me. The top, she bought at an online shop for p100. It's a size large, and she bought it without hesitations because if the shorts got to fit her and it was small, so she felt size large would fit her good. Well, I guess the shirt cut is for teens or something because it was way too small for her, and she gave it to me...again. Well, she told me she'd just allow me to use it and she will take it back when she loses more weight, but... I am 150lbs, she's 200lbs (yep, she gained weight) and I think it will take a looong time before she can have this back.

Oh well, just two Aeropostale clothes, but I feel she's just testing the waters (checking her size). I know that when she finds that right size for her, she'd buy more. Makes me remember the time she became a little addicted to Penshoppe.
